Scarlet's Banana Chocolate Cake Heaven
This is not your grandmother's banana cake recipe. Y'know that stodgy block of solidified banana-tasting nastiness that people USUALLY make when they've got ripe bananas decaying in their kitchen? And they slap on some buttercream frosting and hope you won't notice that the 'cake' is disgusting? Scarlet's Banana Chocolate Cake Heaven is not that.
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter (not margarine. That stuff is evil and will kill you.)
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
3 mashed bananas MINIMUM. Can be 4 or 5. Must be really ripe, almost rotten.
1 tspn baking soda
2 tbspns hot milk
1 tspn baking powder
1 cup flour
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped roasted almonds or pecans or walnuts or what the heck, all three of them mixed together.
cinnamon for generous sprinkling.
1.Cream together the butter and sugar. Really mix that stuff up good.
2.Add eggs.
3.Add mashed bananas. Gross almost rotten ripe bananas preferable.
4.Dissolve the baking soda in the hot milk first. Then add it to mixture.
5.Chuck in the baking powder and flour. Mix. Dont beat it to bits though. Less is more at this stage.
6. Add chocolate chips. Dont be stingy. Really go overboard. Accidentally pour in most of the packet. Stir.
7. Pour mixture into a baking pan that's either covered in wax proof paper OR that you have greased.
8.Sprinkle the nuts on top.
9.Sprinkle cinnamon on top.
10.What the heck, sprinkle brown sugar on the top too. Why not. Have fun with it.
11.Bake it at 180 degrees. Until you stick a knife in it and it comes out sort of clean. I say 'sort of' because the knife should come out covered in chocolate. Just not covered in mushy cake batter.
12. Cool it. Eat it. Love it.
Scarlet's Note - if your cake isn't more chocolate than cake, then you've made it wrong. And next time to fix it, you must add lots more chocolate chips and sprinkle heaps more cinnamon, nuts and sugar on top.
ALSO, don't ask what the nutritional content of this recipe is. Scarlet doesn't know how many calories or macros it has. And let's face it, if you're worried about that stuff, then you wouldn't be making a recipe called Banana Chocolate Cake Heaven.
